Deep Cleaning

Deep cleaning for the build-up a regular clean never reaches

Grout lines, oven racks, cabinet interiors, the grime behind the stove. A deep cleaning is detail work for homes in Georgetown, Milford, Lewes and surrounding towns that need a true reset.

What deep cleaning includes with us

A deep cleaning is where we slow down. Instead of keeping surfaces clean, the goal is to remove what has accumulated over months: grease film on cabinet doors near the stove, soap scum baked onto shower glass, dust packed into the tops of door frames, and the gray line along baseboards where a mop has pushed dirt for years. It is the service we recommend for a first visit, for homes that have not had professional help in a long time, and for seasonal resets in spring and fall.

Southern Delaware adds its own challenges. Humid summers mean bathrooms and laundry areas can develop mildew spots in corners and along caulk lines. Well water, which many homes around Georgetown, Millsboro and Millville rely on, leaves mineral deposits on faucets, shower heads and glass. Pollen and farm dust come in on shoes and through open windows. A deep cleaning treats each of these directly rather than hoping a general wipe-down will take care of it.

Because the work is detailed, a deep cleaning takes longer than a standard visit and often needs a larger team. We look at the home before quoting, either in person or through photos and a short call, so the time estimate is honest. We would rather tell you up front that a kitchen needs extra attention than rush it to hit a number.

Inside the kitchen, deep cleaning means the oven interior and racks, the refrigerator shelves and drawers, the range hood filter, cabinet fronts and handles, and the tops of the cabinets that nobody sees but everybody feels when they run a hand across them. In bathrooms, it means grout scrubbing, descaling fixtures, and cleaning behind and around the toilet base where standard visits only reach the surface.

Once a home has been deep cleaned, keeping it that way is much easier. Many clients follow a deep cleaning with regular visits every one, two or four weeks, and those visits stay shorter and more affordable because the heavy work has already been done.

Benefits of professional deep cleaning

Grime removed, not hidden

Build-up is broken down with the right product and agitation, so surfaces are actually clean underneath.

Mineral and mildew control

Hard-water spots and mildew along caulk lines are treated directly, which matters in humid Sussex County summers.

Appliances that feel new

Oven, refrigerator, microwave and range hood filter are cleaned inside, where food residue and odors start.

A better starting point

Recurring visits after a deep clean stay shorter because there is no backlog to fight each time.

Cleaner air at home

Vents, fan blades, blinds and the tops of door frames hold a surprising amount of dust. We clear it out.

Ready for guests or photos

A deep clean is the right move before hosting family, listing a home, or starting a new season.

How a deep cleaning visit works

  1. Assessment

We review the home in person or by photos to estimate time and team size honestly.

  2. Plan the order

Rooms with the most build-up are scheduled first, while the team is fresh and products have time to work.

  3. Treat and dwell

Degreasers and descalers are applied and given time to break down grime before scrubbing.

  4. Detail and finish

Grout, edges, appliances and fixtures are worked by hand, then every room gets a final floor pass.

  5. Review together

We walk the home with you or send a summary, and note what would keep it this way longer.

Why hire a professional for deep cleaning

Deep cleaning is where the difference between doing it yourself and hiring a trained team is most obvious. Grout, oven interiors and descaling all require specific products, dwell time and technique. Using the wrong product on natural stone or a stainless finish can etch or dull it permanently, and scrubbing harder is not a substitute for letting a cleaner do its job.

There is also the time involved. A thorough deep cleaning of an average home can take one person most of a weekend. A coordinated team splits the rooms, works in a set order, and finishes the same day, with a consistent result from one room to the next.

Deep Cleaning questions

Most homes benefit from a deep clean once or twice a year, often in spring and fall. Homes with pets, allergies or heavy use may want one every three to four months.

We recommend it when a home has not been professionally cleaned recently. It lets later visits focus on maintenance instead of build-up.

We treat mineral deposits on glass, faucets and tile with descalers. Very old etching in glass cannot always be reversed, and we will tell you if that is the case.

We move light furniture to clean underneath. Heavy pieces such as pianos, full bookcases and large dressers stay in place for safety.

Usually longer than a standard visit, and sometimes a full day for larger or heavily used homes. The estimate comes with your quote.

Cabinet interiors can be added when the cabinets are emptied beforehand. Let us know when you request the quote.

Yes. A clean home photographs better and shows better. We can schedule the visit before your listing photos or open house.
